Dear Kindergarten Family,

 

Hello!  I would like to welcome you to our fantastic kindergarten class! I am excited to be your teacher this year and can't wait to get to know you. I would like to take this time to tell you a little about myself. 

 

My name is Candice McCaghren and I am 26 years old. I am proud to say that I attended Crestline Elementary School, 1st-5th grade, and continued my education in Hartselle. I graduated from Hartselle High School in 2008. After high school, I earned my Associates in Science Degree from Wallace State Community College in 2010 and my Bachelors in  Elementary Education from Athens State University in 2012. I received my Masters in Elementary Education from The University of North Alabama in 2015. This will be my fourth year of teaching and I am looking forward to another great year! 

 

I have a wonderful family whom I love dearly! I have two amazing parents along with two best friends that I call sisters. My oldest sister and her husband have two precious boys that make me a proud aunt! My family grew when I married my husband, Hunter. Now, I am blessed with two fabulous in-laws, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, a niece and another nephew! My little sister recently got married and now I have a new brother-in-law! I love having a big family!  

 

I love spending time at the lake! I grew up going to Smith Lake with my family enjoying riding Sea-Doos and being pulled on an intertube. I never mastered water skiing, however, a few years ago I learned how to wake board and knee board. Also, I love when I have the opportunity to take a getaway trip to the beach. I can lay in the sun all day...not to mention the endless amount of seafood! YUM! 

 

Random Facts...

*Mrs. Helton was my first grade teacher!

*I ran my first 5K with my sister-in-law. 

*I love country music.

*I live on a farm.

*My husband is a full time farmer that owns cattle, grow crops and manage 105,000 chickens in our four mega chicken houses.  

*I love to paint!!

*I have ALWAYS wanted to be an elementary school teacher. As a little girl, I would gather all of my stuffed animals together and read books to them... not forgetting to show them the pictures just like my teacher did! 

 

Now that I have shared a few things about me, I would love to know something special about you! I am looking forward to working with you this year!
